The need of the hour is to Go Green, Go Digital while taking a thoughtful look at business sustainability that ‘meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’. This quote highlights the belief of the World Council for Economic Development (WCED) and it is also a reflection of our times. The reason why I have mentioned business sustainability here is because going green and going digital are in sync with business sustainability. Go Green, Go Digital has certainly become our mantra for our present and future. It is about time we demonstrated our sensibility by moving towards the digital world.
Go Green, Go Digital reveals our responsibility towards the environment irrespective of our geographies. Speaking of geographies, information travels faster than ever today. In 2013, 39% of users across the globe use the internet, with 77% users from the developed world and 31% in the developing world. This is one reason why we need to promote the importance of saving trees and say no to paper wherever and wherever we can.
At BM, we adhere to the ethos of our pressing times to Go Green, Go Digital. It is our pledge to committing to a greener environment. The emphasis on saying no to cutting of trees begins here. Paper is derived from trees, and millions of trees are cut each year to meet the demands of the market. According to reports, about 300 million tons of paper is consumed every year. This piece of information is alarming, and it makes one wonder about what would be left of the planet in years to come. This is where we adhere to our motto of Go Green, Go Digital.
Apart from sending used paper for recycling, we take care of our needs and requirements by trying to put a curb on our dependence on paper. We are also making an effort to work towards future business sustainability. Going digital is the first step for us and we certainly want to share our Go Green, Go Digital story with you.
